Zayn Malik sang in the concert for the first time since the death of his partner in the band, One Direction, Liam Payne. It was quite an emotional concert that took place at Leeds in England.
Liam Payne died of his injuries in October following a fall from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was just 31 years old.
Inexplicably, the words Liam Payne 1993-2024 Love you bro appeared at the end of Zayn’s brilliant performance which left fans in tears. One of the people said in comments below the video on the Internet, ‘Zayn Malik has dedicated the song to Liam Payne at the end of the first concert of the tour while singing Stardust—I am shaking and crying.’
Zayn was forced to put off the American part of his Stairway to the Sky tour following Liam’s passing. He posted it on Instagram, stating that “due to the sadness in the week the U.S. dates would be cancelled”. Second, there are live comedy shows, the dates for which have been changed to January but all tickets are valid for use at the later date. Thank you for understanding.”
The remaining members of One Direction—Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn—also released a joint statement:“He left us. I mean we lost Liam and frankly, we’re overwhelmed by his tragic passing away. Someday we’ll tell you more but as of now, we still healing and this page is our avenue to mourn. We could all say that Liam was like a brother to us and indeed his memories we shared will always reminisce in our hearts. Our condolences to his family, friends and all the fans who appreciated his work. We will miss him deeply.”
This week they reunited in person to pay their final respects to Liam during his funeral services.One Direction took a break in 2015, shortly after Zayn left the group successfully. The death of Liam has fostered the groups followers, and everyone has come together to celebrate the moments the group and the fans valued with Liam.
